Build Unstoppable Stories
I Wrote the Book
I wrote this book in response to all the questions I, and many of my fellow authors, had about serials and serialization. Now it can help you too!

The Future of Storytelling is Ancient.
We tend to think of the "Novel"—the finite, bound book—as the default shape of a story. But if you look at the timeline of human history, the novel is just a recent invention.
From the oral epics of the ancients to the penny dreadfuls of the Victorian era, the dominant form of storytelling has always been the serial.
Today, the digital age has returned us to our roots. We are moving away from the static product and back to the continuous stream. We are leaving the era of the "Book Launch" and entering the era of the Unstoppable Story.
Serial Nation Academy is designed to help you navigate this shift. I don't just teach you how to write; I teach you how to build a career on the oldest, most resilient story form in history.
Why should I serialize my fiction?
Because the "Launch and Pray" model of publishing works, but isn't the only game in town anymore! Serialization allows you to build a direct relationship with your readers instead of fighting an algorithm for sales every six months. Learn to build a recurring habit for your audience which turns "readers" into "subscribers."
Is this just for fiction authors?
NO! Most serialization is fiction, sure, but plenty of memoirists and non-fiction writers are serializing. They face different challenges from fiction authors and will need to use different tools, but you can absolutely serialize non-fiction work!
Is a serial just a novel chopped into pieces?
No. A novel is designed to end; a serial is designed to continue. While you can serialize a novel, a true Unstoppable Story uses a "dynamic" structure (specific beats and arcs) that keeps the narrative engine running for years without losing momentum.
Do I need to be high-tech to do this?
Not at all! The technology of text has evolved—from clay tablets to printing presses to smart phones—but the craft remains the same. Whether you use Substack, Ream, Patreon, or your own website, the tools are just the delivery mechanism. The story is the asset.
Oh no, is the novel dead?
Far from it! We love novels in this house! But it is no longer the only path. The goal of Serial Nation is not to destroy the novel, but to give you a powerful alternative that offers creative freedom and financial stability in a changing market.
Give your sprawling, epic ideas the limitless room they need to breathe!
We are often taught that to publish is to condense by cutting scenes, mergeing characters, and racing toward the finale. But true immersion requires space.
Serialization removes the constraints of the physical book, granting you the creative license to follow your characters down every alleyway and explore the deepest corners of your world. You no longer have to shrink your vision to fit the container; you can build a narrative that grows as long—and as deep—as the story demands.
Build a direct, flourishing relationship with the people who love your work.
